September 14, 2026 | Oslo’s Deadly Legacy: Rethinking the Palestinian Authority with Maurice Hirsch

"Lt. Col. (res.) Maurice Hirsch joins the Middle East Forum Podcast to argue that the Oslo Accords have failed and that the Palestinian Authority remains fundamentally committed to conflict rather than coexistence with Israel. Drawing on his experience as former head of the IDF Military Prosecution for Judea and Samaria, Hirsch examines the PA’s “Pay-for-Slay” program, its security forces, and what he sees as the continuing consequences of policies established under Oslo.

"In conversation with host Lauri Regan, Hirsch explains why he believes payments to convicted terrorists continue to incentivize violence and argues that the PA has built a security apparatus far beyond what was envisioned under the Oslo framework. He warns that Israel risks repeating the intelligence and strategic failures that preceded October 7 if it continues to assume those forces have no incentive to turn their weapons against Israelis.
